OUR COMPANY
Pan Pac Forest Products Limited operations are coordinated by our corporate office in Whirinaki, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand.FORESTS
We grow our own trees, and from them comes 45% of our lumber and pulp. Our Forests team are in charge of sourcing quality trees for that other 55%.
LUMBER
Our quality kiln-dried lumber is in demand. We export it to over 17 different countries around the world. Our advanced timber processing technology increases fibre recovery.
PULP
Our Pulpmill produces up to 850 tonnes of Bleached Chemi Thermo Mechanical Pulp (BCTMP) daily.
BCTMP is the preferred furnish for a wide range of board, towelling and paper products. We sell our BCTMP grades all over the world.
We have been producing Mechanical Pulp at Whirinaki for nearly 50 years. In 2012, we added a state-of-the-art screening and bleaching plant to produce the BCTMP grade.
Forests
- We are the largest forestry grower in Hawke’s Bay.
- We have a total forest area of about 35,000 hectares across the Hawke’s Bay.
- Our trees grow for 30 years before we harvest them.
- That means we harvest and replant about 1,000 hectares each year.
Lumber
- We are the largest producer of appearance grade lumber in New Zealand.
- Our lumber gets turned into a range of products, such as windows, doors, mouldings and solid-wood furniture – where appearance really counts.
Pulp

Fibre supply
- Our Chipmill manufactures up to 450,000 tonnes of wood chip a year from whole logs.
- We focus on producing quality, value-added products and exporting it globally to over 16 countries.
- As a result, we have steadily grown our revenue over the past 20 years.
